How To Build A Professional Website in 2022 with WordPress & Elementor.

This walkthrough will show step by step how to build a professional website in 2022 with WordPress and Elementor. There is no coding involved so I consider this method beginner-friendly. However, after building your website the number of customization features you will have available will make the possibilities endless.

Step 1: Purchasing Hosting & Domain

First, you have to purchase hosting and a domain for your website.

Hosting is the server that houses your website for visitors.

A Domain is the URL or web address of your website.

Step 2: Linking Your Domain & Hosting (Nameservers)

Link your domain to your hosting by making sure the “nameservers” of your domain match your hosting nameservers. Go to your hosting and copy your nameservers.

Click on your hosting package that you purchased and you will see a section called “Nameservers”. Highlight and copy these lines (ctrl + c).

Now we are going to paste these lines we copied into our Domain’s Namerserver Settings. Go to your domain settings and find “Nameservers”, paste the lines you just copied (ctrl + v) then save.

Step 3: Adding Addon Domain (For Anyone Looking To Add Multiple Domains To One Hosting Package)

If this is an additional domain you would like to add to your hosting you will now go to C-Panel and type in and select “Addon Domains”. Now under “Create an Addon Domain” you’re going to type your new domain “example.com” in the “New Domain” section and it will automatically input the subdomain box and the “Document Root” box, after entering your domain simply press the “Add Domain” button.

Step 4: Activating SSL (Getting Google's Secure Site Lock)

Most hosting providers including Namehero, include SSL Certificates with your hosting package.

Go to C-Panel. (Located in your hosting settings)

Find & Select “SSL/TLS Status”

Now press “Run AutoSSL”

Step 6: Installing WordPress in C-Panel

Most hosting providers including Namehero, include SSL Certificates with your hosting package.

Find & Select “WordPress Manager by Softaculous” in C-Panel

Next press install

Verify the protocol is set to “https://”, “in Directory” should be blank, and the latest WordPress version is selected. Now set your site title and tagline. Create a username and a password. Finally, scroll down and press install.

Step 7: How to Login to WordPress Backend

To access the WordPress backend you can enter your domain followed by “/wp-admin”.

To log in to my financial blog www.nocapfinancials.com I use
EX: nocapfinancials.com/wp-admin
Then I enter my username and password 🙂 which can also be changed in the future via C-Panel or in the WordPress Backend Via “Users”.

Step 8: How To Update Your Website’s PHP Version

If it says “PHP Update Recommended” in your WordPress Dashboard follow these steps in C-Panel to update your website’s PHP.
